The key thing I have learned throughout my health and fitness journey is to listen to what my body is telling me.
It took me a while because I was so set in my eating habits that I thought that I could continue and exercise and everything would be alright. But exercise with an unhealthy diet won’t get you results.
So start listening to how your body responds to certain foods. Do you experience discomfort after eating a certain food? Do you feel weight down after you eat something? That’s your body’s way of rejecting what you put into it.
After eating a steak or burger I would feel so weight down and full for hours because it takes meat 72 hours to fully pass through your system versus a bowl of oatmeal which has more nutritional value, I felt full for a really long time, but energized as well. It’s all about making the smarter choice.
I recently built up an intolerance for dairy. So I had to cut out ice cream, regular milk, cheese….so this summer I been on a no dairy diet and fell in love with Silk products (soymilk, coconut milk, almond milk, yogurt).
I’m gradually making my way into vegetarianism. I can’t remember the last time I had red meat, but I find it hard to give up chicken or fish. I’m working on it though. Lol.
